Thrivent Action Teams make it easy to give of yourself and live generously. As a member of Thrivent Financial, you can lead a Thrivent Action Team of volunteers for a one-time fundraiser, service activity or educational event to support Phil’s Friends’ mission of providing faith-based hope in a care package to those affected by cancer. After you apply, Thrivent provides a customized kit of resources—including a banner, team T-shirts, thank-you notes and a Community Impact Card of $250 seed money to get you started. Your team provides the passion and people power to bring your idea to life and make a difference in the lives of those who are sick and isolated. Contact Thrivent directly here to sign up for your community project and get started!
Ways your Thrivent Action Team can generously make an impact:
Make Fleece-Tie Blankets
Blankets provide warmth and comfort for individuals battling cancer, especially as they undergo treatment. Every blanket goes inside of a care package. Bring together volunteers to make these blankets. It’s easy, fun and the Community Impact Card that is included in your Thrivent Action Kit can be used to purchase the supplies. Click here for blanket making instructions.
Host a Fundraiser to Benefit Phil’s Friends
Use your Thrivent Action Kit to promote, organize, and host a fundraising event to support Phil’s Friends’ mission of bringing hope and recruit volunteers to join your team and help. This is also a great opportunity to double, or even triple, your $250 Community Impact Card. Each month, thousands of encouraging cards are sent to cancer patients that Phil’s Friends supports across the USA. You could also use your Thrivent Action Kit to recruit volunteers for a card making party and get supplies. Templates and instructions are available here.
Phil’s Friends Hope Centers in Roselle, IL & Crown Point, IN
Organize a Thrivent Action Team to volunteer at either of our Hope Centers to make care packages and cards for our friends with cancer. Your Thrivent Action Kit can be used to promote and organize your volunteer team and you can use your Community Impact Card to donate directly to Phil’s Friends to help purchase the supplies and items that go into every care package.
