A Box Full of Love & 100 Hugs

May 6, 2015 by Justin

We recently received this encouraging note from one of our patients and wanted to share it with you.

I received my Care Package from Phil’s Friends on Saturday. I love that some of the items were homemade! I felt like I was sent a box full of love and 100 hugs!! It was so very thoughtful, thank you. My friend’s mother has pancreatic cancer and she also received her Care Package and said the same thing. She’s using the pink blanket, the socks and the hat. And she had even been looking to read the Bible so that was perfect! Thank you, again, Phil’s Friends.

The Significance of a Care Package

August 4, 2014 by badmin

Every so often patients who have received support from Phil’s Friends write back to let us know just how much it meant to them. Phil’s Friends’ unique programs all touch people in significant ways. Often times, our staff is so encouraged by the responses we get from our patients that we want to share them with the world. So, we’ve shared some of those responses here. It’s truly an encouraging reminder of the significance of each Care Package. Hopefully you will be as encouraged as we have been.

“I have tears in my eyes as I am writing you to say “thank you” for the wonderful care package my husband received in the mail today. He is overwhelmed by all the love and prayers that have been bestowed on him by people from all over. This battle with Cancer is bringing Him closer to our Lord every day. And the outreach such as yours helps in a big way. Thanks again for your gift of support.” – Kim
“I received a package today. It is amazing!! Even though I have no idea who is responsible for this wonderful, inspirational gift, I feel the need to express my thanks and gratitude.”- Patient
“I am in awe—beyond belief—at what has been delivered to me today. Every time I thought the discovery was done, I found more! You cannot possibly believe how loved I feel right now. I cannot wait to listen to the CD, but I cannot until after Easter (for Lent I always give up music…very difficult for me…but I can do it!). When I attend my radiation appointments, they usually have music playing to help relax the patients. They now turn it off for me during my 15 minute session. God bless them.” – Patient
“What a wonderful mission that have chosen to undertake. I feel blessed.” – Patient
“Thank you for your prayers, your concern, and your caring.” – Darcy
